It's a fairly sizable spacer plopped atop the intake manifold. Dropping motor mounts and a dry sump oiling system would be two ways to aid in fitting that beneath a stock hood. Once upon a time I had a '69 Corvette and became familiar with, "Will not clear stock Corvette hood" whilst browsing Summit and JEG'S for many things, like the RPM Air Gap intake manifolds.
