wildfelr Posted June 20, 2022 Report Posted June 20, 2022 RQB3263/81/30 ... I just completed installation of a repop 57 Caddy air cleaner cover on RQB3263 ... It will be painted to match the original body color soon I hope....pics later Due to hood clearance issues it was necessary to use a 2" X 14 element... AND ... to gain clearance on the HEI dist I had to cut the new cover for clearance a rather large area but not visible when installed ... THEN ...it req a 1/2" spacer (Amazon 11$) up still to clear the HEI....A 2 1/2 inch element would have fixed that but I guess they dont make them that size ... Well the 1/2" spacer is a fine piece of machined aluminum BUT needed an hours machine clearancing to fit my Q-jet and not interfere with the fwd choke actuator arm....it may fit other carbs with out modification....... all is well now, I have hood clearance and dist clearance....and most important it looks cool on RQB3263.....
