Sunroof drains into the torque boxes

I am told that the sunroofs on these cars drain into the torque boxes. Has anyone come up with a better solution so that the torque boxes do not get that water?

I'd probably just extend the tubes to go through the boxes and dump to the ground like standard a/c drains. They would also be easier to clean with air pressure as you can get to them.

That is kind of the direction I am thinking. I haven't traced those lines out yet and don't want to reinvent the wheel if i do not have to do so.
