mfg
Regarding the Studebaker corporate short film..."BONNEVILLE RECORD BREAKER"...which deals with the 29 speed records set in the fall of '62 at Bonneville by Granatelli and the prototype 'R3' Avanti, there is a major 'Boo-Boo' concerning the engine shot (picture).....What is that rather glaring mistake? lschuc
At 2:13 in the video, the engine shot shows an R2 engine, not an R3!!!
mfg
At 2:13 in the video, the engine shot shows an R2 engine, not an R3!!! That's RIGHT,....And then there is (in my opinion) an even BIGGER engine error....Do you see it?
lschuc
The carb air air inlet is facing toward the driver's side of the engine compartment...not the passenger side, where the hose from the supercharger is positioned. And the fan is not bolt to a vicious drive.. it looks to be bolted direct to the water pump pulley, and there is no belt on the fan.
mfg
You've really got it here Ischuc.....and from what I'm seeing (check out the alternator mounting bracket, and position of the alternator on the engine) the second view shows an Avanti R1 engine!!
