3x2Stude
I am putting a 1967 Avanti II 327 into a 1965 Daytona. The original 283 is pretty tired and I felt that putting an Avanti II V8 of the same period was sort of like still putting a Studebaker motor in a Studebaker. The casting dates on the donor motor are all fall '65 so that all falls in line for someone putting it in shortly after the car was delivered to its first owner. I do not have the original air cleaner housing for the '67. I bought a '65 - '67 Corvette repop assembly but it seems as if the draft tube hose hook up point is on the wrong side. A "plan view" photo of the Avanti II base for the '65 - '67 base would help figure out where I am at. I attached a picture of the old girl, she's rough but got an interesting history, but that's another story for another forum. :) Jon
silverstude
Does it have a Quadrajet or a Holley?
Gunslinger
From RQA0057 to RQA0257 ('66-'68) Avantis IIs were equipped with Holley carburetors...if the one in question still has its original carb.
jpepper
You should put 64 style Avanti powered emblems on the front fenders after the swap. 66 Corvette 300 HP 327 with a Holley should work.
