Looking for Early RQB Air Conditioning vents.

Looking for late RQA or Early RQB Air Conditioning Vents. Rectangular and mounts from behind. Any info on what brand X used them would be appreciated. Also need a right side (Passenger) tailight housing.

My '70 came with the same a/c vents and I was unable to find replacements when the car was rebuilt. What I did was buy two new vents used in later Avanti II's from Nostalgic Motors and carefully marked and drilled the console plate for them. They look and operate fine.

Those originals are quite fragile with numerous easy to lose pieces. I considered having them replated by a vacuum metalizing company but their fragility made it too much trouble. Using later vents and some careful work was much less headache and less money.

For a tail light housing, you can get reproduction ones from Nostalgic. You might be able to find good, used ones from them as well or Jon Myer.

Were the round vents (left overs from 83 and 64, I assume) just used in the early RQA's? I had never seen the earlier rectangular type vent. They must not have been used very long.

You're probably right on that. Avanti Motors was good at using up leftover Studebaker parts then sourcing from other suppliers as costs and availability dictated.
