gilbybarr Posted September 9, 2008 Report Posted September 9, 2008 What was the original tire size of the Goodrich TA radials on the '89 Avanti Convertibles? I cant find a reference to the originals...the sales brouchers show the Goodrich white letter TA's, but no size is given. Was it 205-70 15 or was it 205-75 15? Thanks a bunch. Ed in Knoxville.
Gunslinger Posted September 9, 2008 Report Posted September 9, 2008 I have a tire information sticker for an '87-'90 Avanti, but it doesn't differentiate between a coupe, convertible or 4-door. It does state the tire size is P205/65R15 all the way around with a cold inflation of 28 psi. The temp spare is listed as a T155/80D16.
IndyJimW Posted September 17, 2008 Report Posted September 17, 2008 There should be a tire size/pressure sticker on the passenger side door jamb. My '87 Avanti calls for a P215/65R15 tire. Jim Wood
billy Posted September 17, 2008 Report Posted September 17, 2008 What size are your rims? My 87 has wheels that look like Corvette wheels with a center cap the says Avanti, they are too wide for 205 tires. There is no sticker on my door jam. bill
IndyJimW Posted September 20, 2008 Report Posted September 20, 2008 I didn't get the orginal rims with my '87 Avanti, but the rims that it came with were 15x5 or 5.5. The rims I have on it now are 16x6 with a 4" backspace. P225/60ZR16 tires. Jim Wood
Bob L Posted December 9, 2008 Report Posted December 9, 2008 Just to add my two cents, My 1988 with 13,000 miles still had the original tires, B F Goodrich Comp T/A size P215 / 65R 15 Bob L
