  1. I have the original Owner Service Policy and Warranty Booklet that was issued to 1963 Avanti R-4719. THis would be a gray R-1, 4-speed car.

The car was delivered on July 9, 1963 in San Angelo, Texas. This dealer document was presented to the owner on delivery of the new car. It contains all the info about the original owner and the original selling dealer.

PM me here, and I'll be happy to email photos (the files are too big for the 13kb available on the forum).

This would be a nice literature addition for Avanti R-4719. The price is $35, plus $6 for insured shipping. Thanks for looking. John

  2. Hi. I have a friend who just purchased a 1963 R2, with automatic. He wants to make sure the engine compartment and the interior are detailed correctly. He would like to know about the correct reproduction engine compartment decals, paper labels, tags, plus any door jamb and car interior plates, decals, and hanger tags. In other words...what goes where!

I have searched the forum history, and haven't found this topic covered. Can someone please direct us to a source for this info, or perhaps cover some of it here? Thanks very much. John in Wisconsin

  3. I have an older, never worn Avanti T-shirt for sale. It is size LARGE, and is quality made in the U.S.A. 50/50 polyester and cotton. I bought this shirt some years ago, and then wound up never using it. I guarantee that it has never been used. Photos show the logo design. The back of the shirt is blank. There are no flaws or problems with this nifty Avanti T-shirt. It has always been stored in its original plastic bag. I only have one of these shirts available.

The price is $15.00, plus shipping in the U.S. Your check or a money order is welcomed. PayPal is also O.K. Thanks for looking. John

  4. I have an original issue, 1963 Avanti AMT model kit available. It is still sealed, so you are assured that this kit is 100% complete, and has never been messed with. This is the 1981 issue kit.

This model is from the AMT Reggie Jackson Collector Series. It is 1/25th scale, so it is the same size as the dealer promotional models from back in the day. The kit is molded in Avanti Grey. Of course, you can paint it a different color, if you wish. The box indicates that the kit can be built "stock", or as a "custom", using the special parts included.

The price is just $20, plus shipping. Your personal check or a money order is welcomed. PayPal is also O.K. Thanks for looking. John

  7. I have a made in U.S.A., aftermarket Avanti PCV valve for sale. This is an extra new-in-box, PCV valve that I bought years ago as a spare. It is now an obsolete number. This PCV valve is correct for 1963-64 Avanti, with R1 and R2 engines. The original box is included; I just didn’t show it in the photo.

To avoid one possible question, let me state that this Avanti PCV valve I'm selling HAS the correct flow direction. In other words, it is NOT the more common, similar appearing PCV valve for the regular 1964 Studebaker V8, which flows in the opposite direction as the R1 and R2 engine PCV valve.

The price is $35, plus $4 shipping anywhere in the 48 states. Your personal check or a money order is welcomed. Please PM me on the forum, if you'd like to purchase. Thanks for looking. John in Wisconsin

  8. This quart of wheel paint has been SOLD.

Hi, Gang. I have an extra quart of custom-mixed DUPONT acrylic enamel paint for Stude and Avanti wheels for sale.

The color was matched to the spare tire wheel of my very low mileage 1963 Avanti. Some guys on the forum have mentioned two different colors of wheel paint being used on the later model Studes (one creamier or almost an "almond" shade and the other just an "off-white"). I can tell you that this quart I have would be considered more the "creamier" or almond shade wheel paint color. The price is $32 for the fresh quart, plus shipping. Thanks. John in Wisconsin

  10. I have an older STP key ring for sale. It is neat in itself, but this one has the bonus of having a WORKING miniature Crescent wrench attached. The little, operable wrench is about 2-3/4" long.

The STP key ring shows a minimum of wear, while the wrench is "as new". The price is just $15, INCLUDING shipping in the U.S. I only have ONE of these. Sorry, no PayPal, but your personal check or a money order is welcomed. JUST CLICK ON THE BOX BELOW TO SEE A PHOTO OF THIS KEY RING. Thanks for looking. John

  11. Hi, Steve. Check with one of the sunroof installation companies in a bigger city. When I replaced the seals in my Avanti II sunroof, an American Sun Roof dealer had the EXACT weatherstripping and rubber for the job. Good luck! John in Wisconsin

  12. Hi, BillyBob. We've been out of town, escaping a bit of the cold Wisconsin winter for several weeks. Just saw your posting from the end of January. Here are the answers to your questions:

-The quart of Avanti Wheel Paint is still available.

    -The paint brand is DuPont.

-This paint was purchased about a year ago.

Thanks for your interest. Please post here or email me through the forum, if you want to purchase. John

  13. Hi, Gang. I couldn't figure out a way to edit the topic title of my previous post about the 1963-64 Avanti wheel paint. So, I'm reposting my for sale item. Over the weekend, I set a price of $45 in my ad for the quart of DUPONT custom-mixed acrylic enamel. That was based on my memory of what I had paid for it this past fall. Big mistake to trust this aging memory of mine! I checked the paperwork today, and have now lowered the price of the quart to $30. That is actually less than I paid for it...but the idea is to get this paint into the hands of someone who can use it. Thanks for looking. John in Wisconsin

  14. Hi, Gang. For our early Avanti wheels: I have a quart of high-quality acrylic enamel automotive paint available. I had two quarts color-matched to an excellent, original 1963 Avanti spare tire wheel. One quart was more than enough to do my five wheels. So, I'm selling the second quart. $30, plus shipping. Please post here, if you want to purchase. Thanks. John in Wisconsin

  15. Hey, Paul. I suggest you post this question on the Studebaker Drivers Club "technical" forum. You do not have to be an SDC member to post....and there is lots of Avanti action there. Just let me know, if you need help finding that site. Best, John K., Plover, Wisconsin
