  1. A difference between Corvette and Avanti fiberglass??? Wern't the Stude bodies built by the same company in the same building as the Vette Bodies??

Reminds me of my favorite Corvette joke... but maybe some of ya own one...

  2. Check out a product called Redi-Rad

It's available in 6 or 12 volt and I think, Positive ground. Try rediscoveradio.com

I think it just hooks up in-line to your factory radio & you can conect up an I-pod, satillite or a CD player straight to the inputs!

  3. The experts tell me that the best way to address a SW factory Tach is to upgrade it with the inner workings of a new VDO brand Tach & this will elimate

the sender as well. Can anyone tell which model guage I would use and if this is real complicated? I have been quoted $250 for this upgrade.

(That's almost a tank full these days!)

    Thanks folks!

  4. My control arm is pretty beaten up from a loose grease cup-bushing thingy. not only is the pin bushing shot but it took the arm with it.

I bet this design goes back to '53. I wonder how secure these bushings are, especially with modern tire loads? I'm not too impressed

with the shallow treads that hold them into the control arm. Guess I need to call around to find one, I still have not addressed the Tach.

  5. Your bracket looks like it supports the fender very well, but I am interested in the little plate that the battery rests on. I ordered up the two piece kit from Meyers and will have to re shape the under fender brace -I understand it is for the Avanti II? I was told that the plate gets pop riveted to the fender but my fender has no pre-existing holes. A photo of this piece would require removing the battery.

I thought about pulling batterys at South Bend but thought that could be difficult to explain to an owner!!
