  1. I am restoring the parking brake and cable on 2302.

The previous owner was generous enough to buy a new cable, as the old one broke at the metal joint that plugs into the casing. They also taped the "J clamp" to the assembly. I just can't figure out how the cable routes through the firewall and where the J clamp secures the cable under the car.

Does the clamp go through these holes in the transmission cross member?

  2. Getting started on the main harness installation. Looks like a rats nest right now.

    A couple of questions:

Where does the windshield washer switch circuit hook into the main harness? At the back of the wiper switch? I can't find the foot switch circuitry on any of my diagrams.

Second, is it recommended to use a tiny amount of copper based anti-seize on the male/female harness plugs? I am struggling to get the plugs to fully mate, and I don't want to break a wire.

  3. Thanks Lew. That is very generous! The covering in much thicker than I thought it would be. I may need to enlarge the hole I drilled.

Brad, I was just test fitting the shelf to see if I painted the fawn areas under the rear glass low enough.

Any special hints for covering fiberglass area/waterfall? Is the naugahyde hemmed on the far right and left sides or does the side/sail trim cover that?

  4. Thanks guys.

That is the angle iron shaped piece. I just couldn't find the right word to describe it at the time. I have the large channel piece off the shelf as well, waiting to get repainted after I replace the Naugahyde. I am totally missing the pass through door/hatch and will have to find one or recreate it.

  5. The tires look really good for their age. I still have them, but there is evidence of cracking along the bead and side wall. Probably fine for rolling a shell around the garage, but I wouldn't want to risk a blowout on the road. Tires are cheap when compared to what rides on them!
