What do Avanti R3 engine numbers "B-47" and "R3-SN320" have in common?

Posted (edited)

Both were engine numbers on the same engine - the B-47 applied by Paxton, and the R3-SN320 applied at South Bend. This would imply that this engine was factory installed in a car in South Bend (but I seem to remember reading that there were a 'few' R3 engines that were sent to South Bend, stamped with the R3Sxxxx number, then sent back to Paxton after South Bend shut down).
