mfg
What do Avanti R3 engine numbers "B-47" and "R3-SN320" have in common?
r1lark
Both were engine numbers on the same engine - the B-47 applied by Paxton, and the R3-SN320 applied at South Bend. This would imply that this engine was factory installed in a car in South Bend (but I seem to remember reading that there were a 'few' R3 engines that were sent to South Bend, stamped with the R3Sxxxx number, then sent back to Paxton after South Bend shut down). Yes, well said!.....And you're also correct concerning the factory install....into Nels Bove's factory R3 '64 Commander.
