mfg Posted May 3, 2019 Report Posted May 3, 2019 (edited) Although most Studebaker Avanti fans feel that Avantis were first shown to the public on April 26, 1962, there's a photo for sale on ebay right now of Studebaker representative Lewis Minkel standing next to a 1963 Avanti in Hollywood, California......And the caption (on the photo) states that the picture was taken at a press showing in Hollywood on April 24, 1962!.....If the caption is accurate, will wonders never cease?!! E-bay auction # 153419753353 Also notice the early style (never used) Avanti script on the wall banner behind the car. Edited May 3, 2019 by mfg

mfg Posted May 4, 2019 Author Report Posted May 4, 2019 Although the date on the photo is probably an error, and this Hollywood press showing most likely happened later on in 1962, that 'unregulation' Avanti banner really does intrigue me!
