I would think that it is on most Avantis, but the Oct. 1 1962 price list shows undercoating to be "Optional on S-F4, compulsory on all other Models except RQ." Undercoating on areas mentioned above was done from the beginning of regular production to eliminate 'starcracks' (from rocks thrown up by the tires) onto the fiberglass.
