I also thought the answer to this trivia question was 1389, however, if you're correct about Bob Johnstone's published information being bogus, I guess we're both wrong!

I do not think that his information is "bogus."  Most of it is good and very helpful, however there are errors.  

My production numbers by month are from some very old data that I have and I do not know the source.  It shows 1389 through the end of December 1962.
