mfg Posted November 3, 2018 Report Posted November 3, 2018 (edited) How many of the Avanti R3-4 powered Studebakers that Studebaker's subsidiary Paxton products Division assembled were 1964 Gran Turismo Hawks? (Studebaker owned.....not privately owned cars!) 1) None.......2) One.......3) Two.....or.....4) Three Edited November 3, 2018 by mfg
r1lark Posted November 3, 2018 Report Posted November 3, 2018 I'll say one, built and ran at Bonneville in late '63. I think this was the car that was sold to Dick Passwater to be used in roundg-round racing.

scottgriggs Posted November 5, 2018 Report Posted November 5, 2018 I've never heard of an R3-powered Hawk being built, so I will say two R4's.

scottgriggs Posted November 6, 2018 Report Posted November 6, 2018 Anybody know what became of the R3-powered Hawk? Was it taken to Bonneville or sold privately?

I believe the R3 GT Hawk is/was the Dick Passwater car....One of these GT's was later 'totaled'...that may have been the R4 version?
