mfg Posted September 17, 2018 Report Posted September 17, 2018 The 2dr/4dr fiberglass Avanti prototype now housed in the Studebaker National Museum utilizes 1963 Avanti taillamp assemblies..........True?

The question is flawed in that that two door/four door car was not a prototype for Avantis, but rather a prototype for Studebaker sedans.

There aren't any "flaws" in this trivia question Gary. I believe you are confusing the black, all metal '65 Studebaker design exercise car (which is also on display at the SNM) with the champagne colored fiberglass Avanti design proposal car which Studebaker Corp. had built. This fiberglass Avanti 2dr/4dr concept car has many 1963 Avanti design features....such as the offset raised hood bulge, the '63 Avanti hood emblem, and the 'Avanti' script clearly displayed on its deck lid.....Yes, two different cars entirely Gary!
