A perspective customer of a 1964 Studebaker Gran Turismo Hawk would need to come up with an extra .......?...... if he wanted his new Hawk to be equipped with the Avanti R2 high performance package AND Powershift transmission.

OK, so much for guessing.

Could not find my '64 price list, so had to estimate. Did find a pic of a window sticker for a non-package '64 R2 Hawk 64V16849 that listed the PowerShift at $273 and the R2 engine at $410. In 1963 the R2 Hi-Perf Package had a Suggested List of $540.62 according to Service Letter 147. Using the '64 cost for the PowerShift and the R2 package cost for '63 yields $813.

Based on this, I'll revise my answer to #2), $854.70

If this isn't right, I'll leave this to someone else to answer.

Answer #2 is indeed the CORRECT answer Paul.......I'm basing the $854.70 on a factory window sticker for a 1964 R2 GT Hawk (#64V9251).....High performance R2 pkg...$581.70.....Powershift trans.....$273.00......
