mfg Posted February 3, 2018 Report Posted February 3, 2018 Concerning '63-'85 Avantis, assuming the front engine mounts are in good shape and the steering bellcrank tower assembly is healthy, what's the easiest way to gain more clearance between the crankshaft pulleys and the top of the power steering slave cylinder ball joint? ( a common problem on some Avantis)
brad Posted February 4, 2018 Report Posted February 4, 2018 Shim the mounting from the bottom of the casting. It lowers the whole assembly. Starter shims for a Chevy work well, because you don't have to completely remove the bolts.
