Curiously, the Studebaker Avanti R3 engine reached its peak torque at a LOWER rpm than the Avanti R2 engine........True?

False: The R3 engine is 304.5-cu .in.,  with 320 Ft-Lbs of torque @ 4000 RPM

The R2 Horsepower: 2889 cu.in, with 289hp at 5200 rpm and 330 lbs.-ft. of torque at 3600 rpm

False is CORRECT!  (and thanks for posting specs)
