mfg
As a follow up to the trivia question "Avanti 63R2602",......Why did Studebaker engineers make a change to the Avanti's dual ignition points? and........What was that change? studegary
They added an ignition bypass wire to give full voltage when cranking to facilitate easier starting. This is not points, but I thought this change may be what you are looking for. They also changed the condenser listing to a proper number. New ignition points with shorter breaker arms and less spring tension were introduced to improve performance and starting and to reduce rubbing block wear.
