Avanti Arrow!

The Studebaker Avanti came very close to being called the 'Pierce Arrow'....... On the full size Avanti clay a stylized Pierce emblem was located on the nose panel, in the same location as the ( finally decided on) Avanti script......True?

I will say False, even though that could have been (I do not know about the clays).  That naming does ring something in my memory bank, but I do not remember a front emblem of Pierce Arrow.  

The earliest prototypes had no nameplate on the front.  A little later, they had "Avanti", but in a different script than what is now the normal.

On the  Avanti full size clay mock-up, a stylized Pierce Arrow emblem was mounted on the 'nose' panel',.... but unlike the later Avanti nameplate,....the Pierce emblem was installed dead center!
