A '64 Studebaker Daytona convertible, powered by an Avanti R3 engine, was clocked at 153.48 mph through the USAC traps at Bonneville.......True?

No one remembers this car?

I remember the car, but I do not remember the exact speed and do not want to look it up.

I have driven the car and didn't remember the speed.  Now does anyone remember the color?

I have no idea of the exterior color of this special Studebaker, as all I've ever seen are black & white photos of it.

Be that as it may, I'm sure we'd all be quite interested in hearing your experiences of driving that R3 Daytona!!....Thanks!

It was red.  When I drove it the blower was off.  It had the front suspension mods and handled fairly well.

Ah-ha!!!...THAT'S why all the Bonneville 'Lark types' look 'nose down' in the period photos!....Interesting!!

And those R-3 suspension mods were not just relocating the upper inner A-arm and using the old inner bushings.  All of the changes were designed to provide more camber gain in the corners.
