MARK Posted August 24, 2016 Report Posted August 24, 2016 Can the members suggest a quality and reliable IR Gun to use occasionally on both my 64 Avanti R2 and 63 GT Hawk??
IndyJimW Posted August 27, 2016 Report Posted August 27, 2016 (edited) Depends on what you want to do with it and how often. I use all of the following: http://www.electronic-circuits-diagrams.com/store/Fluke-80BK-A-Type-K-Multimeter-Thermocouple-Temperature-Probe-Cable_361623500610.html K-type thermocouple, used to measure surface temperatures using a multimeter. Simple and precise. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Laser-LCD-IR-Infrared-Digital-Thermometer-Heat-Meter-Temperature-Measure-Gun-/121948223015?hash=item1c64ae3627 Inexpensive to expensive IR Gun. Depends on how much you will use it, Hard to beat a Fluke. http://store3.sure-electronics.com/dc-te11205 Visual IR Gun, if you have a need. I love my Fluke. PackardV8 Posted August 27, 2016 Report Posted August 27, 2016 X2 on the Fluke. FWIW, a mechanic I know refers to the Harbor Freight and other Chicom units as "random number generators". jack vines
MARK Posted August 30, 2016 Author Report Posted August 30, 2016 thanks, I felt Harbor Freight was just too inexpensive and built cheaply. I checked out Summit tools and ordered their unit. I expect to get it Wednesday. Info and photo to follow. thanks a lot Mark
