mfg
If the Chevy engine in your '82 Avanti ll has only 10 lbs of oil pressure at hot idle....there is no cause for alarm.....True?
brad
Ganerally the rule of thumb is 10lbs /every 1000 rpm. as deemed acceptable. But, I would like at least 20lbs at idle with an engine with hydraulic lifters. Remember the clatter with the Packard V8s?
mfg
I'd like to see more oil pressure than that myself, but stock 305 Chevy V8's aren't known for having a lot of oil pressure at idle........If the engine isn't smoking or knocking or clattering, I'd say it's OK for normal driving........Answer to question.....TRUE!
