mfg
A '63 R2 Avanti's carburetor 'air cap' or 'bonnet' consists of six pieces.....True? Edited October 31, 2015 by mfg
brad
Maybe. There is the bonnet itself, the flapper. two screws on the spring end of the flapper, a mesh over the hole, and a retainer for the mesh, and two screws holding that i place. Then there is a chrome washer, and a wing nut retainer for the bonnet. I guess it depends on what you are counting.
mfg
brad says six pieces may be correct (wing nut and washer not part of bonnet)...any other thoughts on this question?
mfg
Answer....FALSE!....There are EIGHT separate pieces which make up an R2 Avanti --Lark---Hawk carburetor's 'air cap!

mfg
Actually My post listed 10. True, but the wing nut and its washer are not part of the bonnet....If they are, you may as well include the hold down stud itself, and the gasket that goes between bonnet & carb..= 12!!!
