‘64 Avanti R5482 is ‘famous’ for the engine under its hood… That engine is:

1) The original Bill Burke Bonneville Stude engine

2) The R3 engine which was crated, shipped to England by Paxton, then shipped back to the U.S.

3) The ‘Studependous’ drag racing R3 engine (run in ‘60 Lark drag car)

or….

4) Authentic R4 twin four barrel engine (once in Studebaker Museum)

P S …. The R4 engine, referred to in answer #4, is still on display at the Studebaker National Museum in South Bend.
