Hood access

I'm investigating an '81 Avanti II in rough shape.  But I can't pull out the hood release cable. Any suggestions? Thank in advance.

Drip oil onto cable housing down the lenght of it, housing is coiled steel oil will seep in no problem. In the event that doesnt work there are rubber plugs up in the fender wells you can stick a screwdriver up into and release the latches, one on both sides. Guy

never. just sat outside for lots of years. It's for sale on FB Marketplace

Wow!  I've never seen a brake booster deteriorate like that.  I'm glad I live in a dry desert.

Not pretty. Priced to sell as a solid body project.
