The radio in my 89 Avanti convertible stopped working. The old radio is a decades old Alpine AM/FM CD player. Does anyone have any easy hint for removal and replacement? Is the dashboard arrangement basically the same as an 89 caprice? Any help would be appreciated as I am in a retirement area of VA and do not want to leave this car overnight in the big city even for those who profess can repair or replace the radio/CD player.  PS:   Years ago I took this car to an authorized GM dealer who claimed they could fix anything, they popped the hood and quickly closed it saying I would have to take it somewhere else.

Radio should be in a metal carrier. Remove bezel then you use a radio tool on each side to remove radio,
