Did Paxton install any type of air filtration ahead of the superchargers on the ‘DueCento’ Avanti?

Not really a trivia question… I don’t know the answer here, and wondered if anyone out there did know?)

There was a mod to the hood that,  the pump inlet fit very close to the opening.    The proximity of the FI injection pump and the hood would have prevented any type of filtration.

Yes… I see that now…. It does seem that there would not be enough room for any type of meaningful filter… Possibly only room for a screen… Thsnks.

Ed. I was going to pose another trivia question which would have been “where was the air cleaner located on the R3 Bonneville record cars”.  The answer was going to be “in the trunk” as they didnt run air cleaners at Bonneville at least on the R3’s. I guess they didn’t care if they wore out rings as they simply wanted all the HP they could possibly get.

“In the trunk”….I like that!!

Yes, the Studebaker engines and superchargers were no doubt expendable to the Granatellis!

I’ll bet when they finished the impeller blades in the Paxton blowers they used had seen better days!!
