Jim S Posted February 22 Report Share Posted February 22 My 87 convertible has trunk hinges that are not the same ones used on all Avantis. They are just a non spring loaded hinge that uses lift supports to hold up the trunk lid. It is an awful design and the supports get in the way of storage in the small trunk. I suspect these are not factory and may have been replacements for whatever reason. My question is can I replace them with the proper Avanti trunk hinges that are readily available?
