mfg Posted February 2 Report Posted February 2 Studebaker Avantis and other '63-'64 Studes equipped with Powershift transmissions were equipped with a high stall speed torque converter....This same torque converter was first used in 1957 Studebaker Golden Hawks.... True?

Hmmm..I don't have one to check the prefix/suffix letters.....but according to someone we all recognize as quite knowledgeable, the GH's and Packard Hawk's were equipped with high stall converters!
brad Posted February 14 Report Posted February 14 They were listed as 1750 stall whereas, Avantis are 2500 ish. I have had Avanti converters made for 3000 rpm stall.
