Mark L Posted October 7, 2023 Report Posted October 7, 2023 (edited) I need to replace the headlight foot dimmer switch. It was left in the high beam ON position for many years, and is now stuck there. Whenever I turn on the headlights, the high beams are on and I can't dim them. The switch will not move when I press on it with my foot. I'd like to replace the switch, but the shop manual does not give any detailed instructions to do the job. What is the right way to replace the foot dimmer switch? Edited October 7, 2023 by Mark L
tanda62 Posted October 7, 2023 Report Posted October 7, 2023 There are two nuts on posts, one on top of the switch and one on bottom. They are small and you want to be careful with them. Use some penetrating spray to help. Replacement switches can be had from several vendors like avantiparts.biz. Hope this helps Tom
Mark L Posted October 7, 2023 Author Report Posted October 7, 2023 Thanks, Tom. Are the nuts accessed from under the car, or do I have to pull the carpet back and access them from the interior? Mark
Leo B Posted October 7, 2023 Report Posted October 7, 2023 Pull the carpet back and access them from the interior.
