mfg
During vehicle assembly, Paxton superchargers were installed on Studebaker Avanti R2's AFTER the 'body drop'......True?
brad
True, the body won't fit if the engine and supercharger are installed in the frame. The supercharger will hit the passenger inner fender.
mfg
True, the body won't fit if the engine and supercharger are installed in the frame. The supercharger will hit the passenger inner fender. Actually, the answer to this question is FALSE! By shifting the body slightly to the right of the frame centerline when 'dropping' it, the previously installed Paxton superchager clears handily. Remember, although the Studebaker Avanti assembly line no doubt moved along at a 'snails pace',....it was STILL an ASSEMBLY LINE!!
