Yes, that steel shaft will wear the aluminum casting, sometimes causing a vacuum leak...but I'm speaking about the throttle linkage itself...Any other thoughts? It's funny you mention that...I just 'repaired' one yesterday by folding the opening around the ball back in place with a flat punch & hammer...definite wear point!
