early vs late grilles

I notice that SI sells a different grille for 71 and later. I tried one on our 79 at a member's place and the outboard mount points are about 2 inches off so i figure it's an early version. This 79 does not have bumper struts, but I figure the 71-72 didn't either... can anyone provide photos of early vs late? thanks.

Hi John. I have the Grille out of my 1981 (with boxing gloves  😊) and can photograph & measure it for you.  Is that any help?

yes please, primarily left and right vertical bar distance from center, I'd also like to know overall width. thanks much!

that's perfect, thank you. As I suspected it has cutouts for the bumper struts that my 79 doesn't have. Yet my mounts match the 13-1/8" dimension...hmmm
