On Studebaker Avantis equipped with R1 or R2 engines, is it possible for the factory stainless radio emission shielding to cause a decrease in fuel mileage?

1) Yes.........2) No

1) Yes. According to service letter J-1963-8, the shielding cover may push one of the spark plug cables onto the resistor terminal causing a miss.
