'Tight' Avanti!

On Studebaker Avantis & early Avanti ll's, if there is insufficient clearance between engine front pulley and steering power cylinder end (on bellcrank) a 'quick' way to improve this clearance  is to ..................?           (This is after front engine mounts have been inspected and determined to be OK)

Right!:)....install shim washers between center bearing housing and bottom of crossmember to, in effect, lower the center bearing housing and bellcrank along with it.
