mfg Posted January 30, 2015 Report Posted January 30, 2015 Early (232 CI) Studebaker V8's featured a 'top mount' fuel pump. Does a Studebaker Avanti R2 engine share any of the early engine's top mount fuel pump gear?
brad Posted January 31, 2015 Report Posted January 31, 2015 I think the eccentric is still ground into all cams. The block off plate where the oil filler was before 63 could theroetically be removed and the earlier pump used
mfg Posted January 31, 2015 Author Report Posted January 31, 2015 Brad you're 'right on the money' with that 'leftover' eccentric (or lobe) to operate the early top mount fuel pump.....A Studebaker Avanti camshaft actually has 17 lobes!!!!!! (Now THAT'S a bit of trivia!)
