Upside Down Avanti!

On an Avanti with 'blade' (metal) bumpers, if the front center bar shows rust on top, but the chrome plate is nice on the bottom, an old Avanti 'trick' is to dis-assemble the front bumper assembly and turn the center bar upside-down......True?

False...besides the chrome on the bottom was often of less quality, the edge contour is slightly different on the center. I'm not saying someone couldn't try that, but they'd be unhappy with the result.

FALSE is correct here. There's quite a 'divit' at bottom center of the bumper center bar that would look horrible turned up!
