mfg Posted January 11, 2015 Report Posted January 11, 2015 What was the term Studebaker used concerning the way the frame of the 1963 Avanti was constructed?
mfg Posted January 12, 2015 Author Report Posted January 12, 2015 X-frame???? Yes, it is an X-frame, but Studebaker used a term for the frame in its advertising in '63......Any other thoughts?
Gunslinger Posted January 12, 2015 Report Posted January 12, 2015 I've seen two ways Studebaker promoted the Avanti frame..."Special Avanti frame" and "Reinforced heavy duty, lip-type X-member frame". While they may have carried some cache back then, those phrases seem very "unsexy" by today's advertising standards.
