mfg Posted January 6, 2015 Report Posted January 6, 2015 A 1963 Avanti, the Swiss Railroad, and Raymond Loewy all have a definite connection.....What is that connection?

Gunslinger Posted January 7, 2015 Report Posted January 7, 2015 Just a guess...Loewy designed locomotives and bus stations...maybe he styled a train station in Switzerland or a locomotive.
mfg Posted January 7, 2015 Author Report Posted January 7, 2015 Just a guess...Loewy designed locomotives and bus stations...maybe he styled a train station in Switzerland or a locomotive. Not bad!.....but that isn't the connection......Hint.......63RQ-1534!
mfg Posted January 10, 2015 Author Report Posted January 10, 2015 Answer.....Raymond Loewy gave Studebaker Avanti #63R-1534 to the president of the Swiss railroad system as a gift!
Gunslinger Posted January 10, 2015 Report Posted January 10, 2015 That answers another question for me...I had read somewhere that Loewy had two Studebaker Avantis. That explains why...he kept one for a personal car and gifted the other.
