Gunslinger Posted January 6, 2015 Report Share Posted January 6, 2015 There was some discussion regarding that car several years ago on the SDC Forum...someone had an Avanti once registered to a John Carson in Nebraska from back in the day. The conclusion was it wasn't the same Johnny Carson for a number of reasons...not the least was that Johnny Carson resided in New York at that time. It was believed that the car owned by THE Johnny Carson didn't exist anymore or had an unknown disposition. If the car has been found, documented as such and restored...more power to the owner. mfg Posted January 7, 2015 Author Report Share Posted January 7, 2015 Answer....FALSE.....The 'Carson Avanti' was totaled several years ago due to a frontal collision. It was Avanti White with a turquoise and fawn interior. The remains of the car, basically a rear 'clip' section, were advertised in an e-bay auction about eight years ago.
