mfg
What's the difference between a FORGED aluminum and a CAST aluminum piston? (And for 'extra points', are there any negatives, aside from cost, concerning forged pistons?
bigdaddy
A forged piston will hold up better to high stress, high RPM, blower pressure, nitros, etc. Negatives;... heavier in weight, cold start rattle do to more installed cylinder clearance. Forged pistons work great in race engines, but not a great choice for a street engine. ( in my opinion).

brad
They tend to bend rather than break, as do most forgings. (compared to castings)
