Avanti Serial!

Avanti Motors would at times assign a serial number to an Avanti ll, but never actually build the car for whatever reason.....True?

True, plus numbers would be skipped for no known reason. That's one reason why determining actual production numbers is so difficult...one would think different for such a low-volume manufacturer. Retitling cars from one year and selling them several years later as the later model year adds to the confusion. Cars built vs. cars sold in a calendar year...throw in the occasional retitled car and the problem becomes worse.
