mfg Posted August 24, 2014 Report Posted August 24, 2014 Raymond Loewy was honored with a one-man retrospective of his work at the Smithsonian Institution in 1978.....True?
Guest dapy Posted August 24, 2014 Report Posted August 24, 2014 (edited) Yes. How old was he at the time? I met him in SB in 1948. Edited August 24, 2014 by dapy
Gunslinger Posted August 24, 2014 Report Posted August 24, 2014 It was at the Renwick Gallery which is several blocks from the main Smithsonian buildings on the National Mall. It was interesting how they got an Avanti in the room...turned it 90 degrees on its ends on a platform to get it through the doors then back to normal to set it on the floor. That was a real trick.
mfg Posted August 24, 2014 Author Report Posted August 24, 2014 All great info!....but the answer here is actually FALSE....The year was 1975.
Guest dapy Posted August 25, 2014 Report Posted August 25, 2014 I always thought RL looked a little like Salvatore Dali.
