Nathan Altman planned to announce his new Avanti ll to the public on August 2, 1965....True?

Newman Altman was one of two Studebaker dealers in South Bend. They also sold MGs. I bought one.

It would now be hard to confirm with Mr. Altman, but the announcement date sounds about right. What was the ID for the first Avanti II he produced?

False...it was August 6, 1965. That's also my wedding anniversary (though different year)...great things can happen on coinciding dates.
