When a rebuilder 'shims the impeller back against the plate' while working on a Paxton supercharger, what he's doing is adjusting the position of the impeller on its shaft for supercharger longevity....True?

No, the boost is dependent on the impeller to scroll cover clearence. But you're right, if the impeller drags on the cover it won't last long!

Agreed!...Shimming back the impeller is done for increased supercharger boost. You make a good point about getting it too close to the rear plate!
