mfg Posted July 20, 2014 Report Posted July 20, 2014 The Studebaker Avanti's R2 engine was a $330. option....True?
mfg Posted July 21, 2014 Author Report Posted July 21, 2014 More like double that! Have to say that's not correct brad.
mfg Posted July 26, 2014 Author Report Posted July 26, 2014 How about $398.30 more for an R-2 Don't think that's right either Bob.
AnAvantiR1for Bob Posted July 26, 2014 Report Posted July 26, 2014 Base price for 1963 & 1964 R-1 was $4445 and $4843.30 (with 4-speed) for the R-2 making a difference of $398.30. What am I missing in your original question?

What am I missing in your original question? Well, I think that you're adding the extra cost of the four speed trans. The advertised factory price of the 'supercharger' on a Stude Avanti (which, of course, meant R2 engine).....was what now sounds like a giveaway price of $210.00! (I realize that a powershift or four speed trans HAD to be ordered if a customer wanted the R2...but that wasn't the question)
brad Posted July 26, 2014 Report Posted July 26, 2014 Silly me was thinking of the optional over the base price of a Lark/ Hawk
