mfg
The HD 3/4" replacement rear sway bar, offered by some of our vendors for Stude-framed Avantis, is not a good 'stand alone' installation....True?
brad
If you upgrade the rear only the car will not steer well on corners. I believe stiffening the rear causes under steer, and vice-versa
mfg
Agree!...Changing to a thicker (and stiffer) rear sway bar without changing to a heavier front bar could be detrimental to the Avanti's handling...bad move!
64Avanti
Stiffer rear will increase over steer or decrease understeer depending on the car. Stiffer front will do opposite. So in general you have to balance the spring rates. But you will have to experiment to determine what works on your car.
