Devildog
I have heard the Avanti's had a small plate that warned about opening the windows above 120 ???MPH to avoid blowing out the rear window I have never seen one . I would like to see it so I can make one for the heck of it. Thanks in advance Joe Where was it mounted?

Guest dapy
It was in the 1964 R2 I just sold. I think it came in the car. It is mounted on facing part of the center console. With your email I can send you a picture of it: dap8@comcast.net
PackardV8
There were plenty of those sold in the FLAPS aftermarket in the '60s. Many were placed on VW dashboards. My custom '63 has one. jack vines

64tbird
I remember seeing these advertised in the back of car magazines in the 1960s as a novelty item.
kellyavanti
Sheesh! I have a friend with one in his '64 R2. It really looked original. I was fooled.

I am having one made on an aluminum plate to match the the aluminum on the console. It does not have to be the truth to be lots of fun.
